When a still or thumper system begins cooling down, contracting vapor can create vacuum inside a sealed system. If that vacuum isn’t relieved, it can place tremendous inward force on tanks, thumpers, and other components.
The Philbilly Manual Vacuum Relief Valve gives the operator a fast, straightforward way to break that vacuum.
The assembly installs directly into your still or thumper plumbing using a sanitary tri-clamp connection. When vacuum needs to be released, simply open the manual valve to allow atmospheric air into the system and equalize the pressure.
This is especially useful on thumper setups and other closed or semi-closed systems where operators are concerned about vacuum developing as equipment cools.

Important
This is a manually operated vacuum-relief device, not an automatic vacuum breaker. The valve must be opened by the operator for it to relieve vacuum. If the valve remains closed, vacuum can still develop in the system.
Never rely on a manually operated valve as the sole safeguard where an automatic vacuum-relief device is required for safe operation.
A simple addition to your setup that gives you a fast way to break the vacuum before it can damage your equipment.
